A good week for crafting

I always have a lot of knitting and stitching going on, so I have long stretches between finishing anything, but I did complete a hat this week.

“November Guest” pattern

The hat really wants to be a tam, but that’s not a style I would wear. The crown is so pretty, though, and would show better in a tam.

Nice crown design

I also made some progress on my cross stitch project.

Still only about one-third completed

Finished reading “The Road” by Cormac McCarthy…a book full of dread that will stay with me for a while. The first time I’ve read one of his books and I already have another one on order. Even with the dark subject matter, his beautifully crafted sentences caused me to stop just to admire the wording.

  1. Agree, I always have multiple projects going (anyone say ADD??) plus I knit almost exclusively with fingering weight yarns so anything takes a lot of stitches to complete. I switched a few years ago to tracking stitches instead of projects. I’ve done a much better job of being accurate in what I can actually accomplish in a year when I focus on the stitches it will take rather than X sweaters and Y socks.
